Agartala, June 06: Tripura is witnessing remarkable positive changes after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government came into power in the year 2018. The State is emerging as a major export hub and the double engine government is looking forward to taking it to a higher level, said National Secretary of BJP, Rituraj Kishore Singha.

Singha is visiting the State to oversee the preparations of BJP’s outreach programme as part of Prime Minister’s nine years in office and also interacted with the media on Tuesday.

Describing the nine successful years of Modi-led government, the National Secretary said, “The past nine years of governance was based on three pillars – Service to society, good governance and welfare of the poor. Unlike the Congress party, we believe in showing results in place of only talking about the issue”.

“It was Congress led government in the Centre when Indira Gandhi called for welfare of the poor but then the government remained in power for almost 25 years but nothing fruitful happened in terms of upliftment of the poor and backward sections of the society”, he said.

Listing out several achievements of the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singha said, “Three crore poor people were provided with houses, 80 crore poor people are given free ration, 9.6 crore women were provided with gas cylinders, electricity to each and every village is ensured and the list is countless.”

“Modi ji has ensured good governance while ensuring zero corruption and India has reached the position of 5th largest GDP in the world leaving behind 5 countries in these 9 years”, he added.

Talking about the Act East policy under the central government, the BJP national secretary said, “It is Modi+Manik (M+M) = Maha development in Tripura”.

“Central schemes have reached to the doorstep of common masses, roads, railways, connectivity has unprecedentedly developed in only 5 years of BJP governance”.

Speaking to the media, State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee said BJP launched a massive outreach campaign on completion of nine years of Prime minister Narendra Modi-led government.  He also said,  in the ‘mega’ outreach programme, BJP Karyakartas of different levels – from booth workers to its Union ministers and national officer bearers – will participate in the campaign, primarily focusing on the governance and welfare activities of the Modi-led Government.
