Agartala June 13: Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha has yet again set an exemplifying record towards his commitment for the welfare of the common masses.
In an appreciable move, under the directions of Dr Manik Saha, Rs 70,000 have been sanctioned by the state government on Tuesday for clearance of medical bills and cremation of a Tripura citizen who lost his life in a road accident in Bangalore.
According to sources, Arun Sarkar, father of late Anjan Sarkar, a resident of Kinaichar area in Kailasahar appealed to the chief minister for financial assistance in a bid to complete the last rites of his deceased son.
Few days back, Anjan Sarkar went to Bangalore for work and got critically injured in a road accident. He was admitted at Basavanagudi Medical Center where he died.
But, Arun Sarkar, father of the deceased, failed to bring his son’s body as he was unable to settle the hospital bills because of financial constraints.
Immediately responding to the appeal received through the SDM Kailasahar, the chief minister directed the concerned officials to provide necessary financial assistance for the medical bills and cremation of Arun Sarkar’s son.
Complying with the directions of the chief minister, the state government on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 70,000 for the medical bills and cremation of Anjan Sarkar who died in a road accident in Bangalore.
On the other hand, the Bengaluru Basavanagudi Medical Center also contacted the state government in this regard and informed that considering the patient’s financial instability, a portion of the total cost of treatment has been deducted and a claim of Rs 60,000 was made.
Meanwhile, the chief minister has received applause from the common people for his dedicated and humanitarian approach towards mankind.
