Cyclone Biparjoy: According to the Indian Meteorological Department, on Thursday (June 15) evening, cyclonic storm Biparjoy will hit the coastal areas of Gujarat. The speed of the cyclone is being told at the rate of 133 km, its effect is also being seen in the coastal areas of Mumbai where high waves are seen rising.

Indian Meteorological Department told that this cyclone will hit the Kutch district of Gujarat at around 5.30 pm today, the speed of the cyclone has been seen at 141 km till the news is written. The IMD chief said that Biparjoy could be a very severe and destructive storm. “Experts predict extremely heavy rainfall with tidal waves of 2-3 meters high in Kutch and high wind speed in Porbandar and Dwarka districts,” he said.  

Biparjoy just 35 km away from Gujarat
The cyclonic storm Biparjoy is moving very fast towards the coastal area of ​​Gujarat, its speed was 141 km till the news was written. Even before it hit the coastal areas of Gujarat, winds have started blowing with heavy rains there. Till the time of writing the news, the minimum wind speed of 21 kmph to 59 kmph is being recorded in each of the 9 districts likely to be affected by this storm. 

Gujarat Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel said that in Kutch district, 72 villages are located within zero to five kilometers from the coast, while 48 villages are located within five to 10 kilometers from the coast. The minister said, we have evacuated about 40,000 people from these coastal villages to a safer place. The Gujarat government informed that so far 74,345 people have been taken to temporary shelter camps in eight coastal districts – Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Rajkot, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh, Porbandar and Gir Somnath.
