Lajpat Nagar Bomb Blast Case: The Supreme Court has sentenced in the case of bomb blast in Delhi’s famous Lajpat Nagar market. Four convicts have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court. Who carried out this bomb blast and did the work of plotting against India. Thirteen people were killed and 38 were injured in the bomb blast in Lajpat Nagar. After 27 years of this incident, the court has sentenced the accused. However, the petitioners demanded death penalty for the culprits. 

Sentence awarded to the four convicts
Arguments were presented in the Supreme Court regarding this case from both sides, the Supreme Court was not satisfied on the demand for death penalty and was sentenced to life imprisonment. . Many innocent people were killed in the blast that took place on May 21, 1996. A bench of Justice BR Gavai, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sanjay Karol, in its 190-page judgement, spared the death penalty for the four convicts – Mohd Naushad, Mirza Nisar Hussain alias Naja, Mohd Ali Bhatt alias Killi and Javed Ahmed Khan. Granting relief, sentenced to life imprisonment. 

Supreme Court expressed displeasure
This incident of bomb blast took place on May 21, 1996. After this, on April 22, 2010, the trial court sentenced the culprits to death. That is, about 13 years ago, the verdict was given in this case, after which the trial continued in other courts. Now the Supreme Court has sentenced the culprits to imprisonment till the end of life without any remission. The Supreme Court said that if the accused are out on bail, they should immediately surrender before the concerned court. Apart from this, his bail bonds have been cancelled. During this, the Supreme Court also expressed displeasure over the delay in the trial. The Supreme Court said that such cases should be heard immediately. Especially when it is related to national security and common man.
