Agartala Jun 24: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajib Bhattacharjee urged the common people to stand by the side of poor meritorious students who are capable of achieving larger milestones in future but are lagging behind because of financial crisis.
The state BJP president was addressing a program at the Press Club Agartala where four meritorious students were provided free health insurance under the initiative of eminent health insurance consultant Biswajit Bhattacharjee here on Saturday.
Taking pride over the initiative, Bhattacharjee said, “When we know that we have enough for our livelihood and are self sufficient, taking up the responsibility of at least one or two meritorious children who are unable to continue education because of poor financial background is something appreciable that we can do for the society”.
Thinking about self and ignoring the drawbacks of the society in which we are living is not what a wise man should do, he added.
Talking about the initiatives of the government both at the centre and state for the upliftment of education sector, Bhattacharjee said, “Introduction of NCERT curriculum, National Education Policy-2020, Vidyajyoti Schools, advanced libraries, laboratories, smart classes and many more are a boon to the education system”.
He also lauded the Prime Minister for introducing Ayushman Bharat Project, providing free Covid-19 vaccines to all, free ration to the poor families and others.
The state BJP president further reminded the teachers to lend all sorts of necessary help to the meritorious students who are subjected to financial constraints.
