Sanjay Raut Defamation Case: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Monday (June 12) filed a defamation case in a Maharashtra court against BJP leader Kirit Somaiya for his allegedly derogatory tweet. It has been said in the complaint that from the year 2022, I noticed that the accused made some tweets on his Twitter account with defamatory statements against me, which are completely unwarranted statements. Raut said that he is surprised by these statements of the BJP leader. It is expected that the court will hear the matter in the coming days. Earlier in the month of February, Sanjay Raut had sent a legal notice to Kirit Somaiya demanding an apology regarding this matter.  

What did Sanjay Raut say?

When Sanjay Raut was in jail in a case registered by ED, Kirit Somaiya had made some tweets. In the legal notice, Somaiya was asked to tender an unconditional public apology for making false and baseless allegations. Raut also warned that if Somaiya did not do so, he would file a defamation case against him. 

Referring to Somaiya’s five tweets, Sanjay Raut’s lawyer had said that you have made many false and baseless allegations against my client. Every allegation on your Twitter account is completely false, fabricated and without any evidence. These tweets were derogatory and made to tarnish Raut’s credibility and reputation.
