Ramasimhan Aboobakker left BJP: Malayalam filmmaker and Sangh Parivar affiliate Ramasimhan Aboobakker has announced to leave the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Ramasimhan had renounced Islam in December 2021 and changed his name from Ali Akbar to Ramasimhan Abubakar.

The filmmaker said in another post on Friday (June 16) that he had resigned a few days back, ‘it’s just that it has become public’. The filmmaker said that he realized that if one wanted to follow the path of dharma, there should be no shackles, so shackles were broken.
Resigned from all posts
In October 2021, director-turned-politician filmmaker Ramasimhan had resigned from all posts in BJP including state committee member.
