Ramnagar By-polls: Dipak, Ratan engages in public relation campaign – aabtak24

Agartala March 30: With barely few days left for the crucial Lok Sabha elections as well as by-elections to the Ramnagar assembly seat in Tripura, the political landscape in the state is ablaze with activity.

While the ruling BJP’s is goal is to secure an absolute majority by surpassing the 400- seat mark to ensure that Narendra Modi is chaired as the Prime Minister once again, the opposition Congress and Left Front have joined hands under the banner of I.N.D.I.A bloc pledging for ‘restoration of democracy and Constitution’.

Coming to the Ramnagar constituency by-polls, the BJP has fielded Agartala Municipal Corporation’ s Mayor Dipak Majumder as the candidate while the CPI-M has named former MLA Ratan Das as the candidate who is also backed by the Congress party.

Both the candidates have launched an extensive campaign in the constituency area with an aim to secure maximum number of votes.

Urging the voters of Ramnagar assembly constituency to vote in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in terms of development in recent years’, the BJP candidate for Ramnagar by-elections, Dipak Majumder conducted a door-to-door campaign in Ward No. 17 area on Saturday.

He said, “I am trying to get the blessings of everyone. Ramnagar is my home, although people in this area know me well, but as a candidate for the elections, I am trying to reach out to every family. Even if it is not possible to visit every family because of short time ahead of the polling day, I will surely visit each residence after elections”.

Dipak Majumder further ensured to complete the remaining works undertaken by late MLA Surajit Datta and work for overall development of the constituency.

Meanwhile, in support of I.N.D.I.A bloc candidate Ratan Das, CPI-M state secretary and MLA Jiten Choudhury led a road show in Jaipur Chowmani area under Ramnagar constituency followed by a large number of supporters from both Left parties and Congress.

 

Addressing the reporters, CPI-M state secretary Jiten Choudhury said, “In all these years of BJP rule people have seen anarchy, terror, hooliganism, bundles of fake promises in the name of development and many more. Now it’s time to oust this government from power and save the people”.

Former MLA and CPI-M candidate Ratan Das said that he is getting immense response from the common masses as he is visiting the residences in the constituency area.

He urged the voters to cast votes in favor of I.N.D.I.A bloc candidates.
