In this interview given to the French media, PM Modi also advocated India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council. PM Modi said, "How can the UN Security Council claim to speak for the world when the world’s most populous country is not its permanent member?"
Talking about India’s economy, the Prime Minister said, since 2014, initiated major economic reforms with the aim of turning India into a developed economy by 2047, the 100th anniversary of our independence. India is now the fifth largest economy in the world and is on track to become the third largest soon.

Talking on the relations between India and France, PM Modi said that the strategic partnership of the two countries is one of the important partnerships affecting the Indo-Pacific region. There is one. We are two big powers in the Indian Ocean region. The purpose of our partnership is to advance a free, open, inclusive, secure and stable Indo Pacific region.
