Opposition Parties Meeting News: Lok Sabha elections-The next meeting of the opposition parties engaged in the process of forming a grand alliance before 2024 is going to be held in Bengaluru on 17 and 18 July. Earlier, in an attempt to increase the opposition clan, the Congress has sent invitations for this meeting to two more small parties. The Congress has also invited UP’s Apna Dal (Cameraists) and a regional party from Tamil Nadu for the meeting in Bengaluru.
According to sources, Apna Dal (K) chief Krishna Patel can participate in the meeting of opposition parties. With this, the number of parties invited for the Bengaluru meeting has increased to 26. Earlier on June 23, a meeting of opposition parties was held in Bihar’s Patna. The last meeting was held on the call of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
More than 30 leaders attended the first meeting
16 parties were invited for this meeting out of which 15 attended the meeting. RLD’s Jayant Chowdhary could not attend the meeting due to family programme. In this meeting, more than 30 leaders of these political parties discussed the common strategy regarding the elections.
Congress presides over the second meeting
The second meeting of the opposition parties is being held under the leadership of the Congress. The meeting was earlier scheduled to be held in Shimla, but was shifted due to bad weather. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has hosted a dinner for opposition parties in Bengaluru on July 17 and the meeting will be held on July 18. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will also attend the meeting.
Mamata Banerjee will also attend the meeting
All the main opposition leaders are going to attend this meeting. There was doubt about TMC Chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee attending the meeting, but now she will also attend the meeting. News agency PTI quoted TMC sources as saying that Mamata Banerjee will not attend the opposition dinner on July 17 as she has to follow the post-surgery protocol, but she will attend the meeting of opposition parties on July 18.  ;
