Democracy is strong in India- Puri

He defended the income tax raid on BBC and said that democracy in India is strong and no force can destroy it. He said that the past actions of BBC show that those who drive the agenda in India are with them.

Despite the security measures…

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Puri said, "We observed two minutes silence for the people who lost their lives in the Odisha train accident and prayed for the injured." Responding to a question about the opposition’s attack on the central government over the train accident, he said that despite all the safety measures, something can go wrong which is part of human existence.

Railway Minister camped there for 36 hours

Let us tell you that more than 275 people were killed and more than 1200 were injured in the train accident in Balasore, Odisha. Puri said that the government tried its best to help the victims and their families. They said, "It matters what your reaction was. The rescue team reached the spot within minutes and Modi also reached there. The Railway Minister camped there for 36 hours, the Health Minister and another State Minister were also present there."

Rail line commissioned within 51 hours

He said that the damaged rail line was made operational within 51 hours, but the opposition will not see all this because "They want to make a political issue." The minister said, "They should introspect as this type of accident is not the first time. The NSG commandos took 10 hours to reach Mumbai from Delhi despite the terrorist attack of November 26, 2008 being telecast live."

Discussing the achievements of the BJP-led government in nine years, he said work is underway to regain the country’s cultural and historical heritage and make it the world’s largest economy.
