Manipur Violence News: Police has also arrested the fifth accused in the case of parading two women naked in Manipur. Till Friday (July 21), 4 accused were arrested. In a video that surfaced on July 19, two women were being paraded naked by a group of men. This shameful incident is being criticized across the country.
According to India Today’s report, the fifth accused has been identified as Yamlembam Nungsithoi Metai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Supreme Court have also expressed displeasure and sorrow. Condemning the incident, the PM also said that it has dishonored the entire nation and the culprits will not be spared.
4 accused sent to police custody for 11 days
All the four accused arrested earlier were sent to police custody for 11 days on Friday. According to the news agency PTI, regarding one of the accused, the police said that he was a B. Faynom was part of the crowd involved in the incident in the village and can be seen in the video dragging one of the women victims. Police arrested the accused from Thoubal district and he has been identified as Huirem Heradas Singh.
