OTT Representatives Meeting: Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday (July 18) has given strict instructions to ‘Over the Top’ (OTT) platforms regarding content. He said that the government will not allow Indian culture and society to be insulted in the name of creative freedom. He had a meeting with the representatives of OTT platforms yesterday.

He also asked the OTT representatives not to use the platform for propaganda and ideology-based favouritism. Anurag said, "India is a country full of diversities. The OTT platform should reflect the overall consciousness of the country and provide quality content to all age groups."

He said that we are taking India’s creative economy forward, so these platforms should be sensitive to the cultural diversity of the country. Anurag Thakur said that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is focusing on strengthening alliances and contacts to achieve this goal. He also said that it is the responsibility of the OTT platform to ensure that obscenity is not served in the name of creative freedom from their platform.
