Agartala, June 27: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has accepted the proposal of the state government for running two pairs of Kharchi Puja special trains on Agartala- Dharmanagar & Agartala- Sabroom routes from both ends till 3rd July.
As per the decision, the special train service already commenced from June 26 last so that the devotees from across the state can easily move to Chaturdash Devata Temple and return home.
On June 21 last, Secretary of the transport department wrote a letter to the NFR proposing special DEMU train service for the Kharchi festival.
The special train departs from Agartala at 5 am and reaches Dharmanagar at 8.30 am. On the return journey, the train leaves from Dharmanagar at 10.35 am and reaches Agartala at 2 pm. The other train departs from Agartala at 2.15 pm and reaches Sabroom at 4.35 pm. On the return journey, the train leaves from Sabroom at 5 pm and reaches Agartala at 9.35 pm.
The state government has appealed to the people from various places coming to Kharchi festival to avail this special train service.
