Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras: The Central Government has taken an important decision to allow 2000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) to open Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country. The decision was taken at a meeting of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah with Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in Delhi on Tuesday (June 6).
Amit Shah tweeted, “A big decision was taken today (on June 6) related to the cooperative sector, due to which PACS will now be able to open Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra. This will increase the income of people associated with PACS and people living in rural areas will be able to get medicines at low cost. is bringing.”
2000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies to be identified
According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Cooperation, 2000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies across the country will be identified to open as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra, out of which 1,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras will be opened by August this year and 1,000 by December .
So far so many centers have been opened
It was said in the statement, “So far more than 9,400 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been opened across the country.” In these, 1,800 types of medicines and 285 other medical devices are available. Medicines are available at Jan Aushadhi Kendras at 50 per cent to 90 per cent less cost than branded medicines.
Eligibility Criteria for opening Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra
The statement of the Ministry of Cooperation further said, “Under the eligibility criteria for opening Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra, individual applicants should have D. Pharma/B. Must be Pharma. For this, any organization, NGO, charitable organization and hospital can apply for B. Pharma/D. Pharma degree holders can be appointed.”
The statement said, “Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra should have at least 120 square feet of self or rented space. The application fee for Jan Aushadhi Kendra is Rs 5,000. Women entrepreneurs, Divyang, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Ex-servicemen come under special category. Aspirational districts, Himalayan mountain regions, north-eastern states and islands are in the special zone. Applicants from special category and special region are exempted from application fee.
It said that the incentive amount for Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra is Rs 5 lakh (15 per cent of the monthly purchase or a maximum of Rs 15,000 per month). A one-time additional incentive of Rs 2 lakh is also provided as reimbursement for IT and infra expenditure in specified categories and sectors.
