Dharmanagar March 29: North Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan on Friday briefed the reporters about necessary information in context of the Lok Sabha elections slated to be held in next few days.
He informed that there are a total of 3 lakh 31 thousand 303 voters in the North Tripura district, out of which, 1 lakh 66 thousand 99 are male voters and 1 lakh 65 thousand 2 are female voters.
He also mentioned that there are 2,496 divyang voters and 1,922 voters who are above 85 years of age and can exercise their right to vote from home if they wish.
Also, there are 10,248 Bru voters in the North Tripura district, he said.
The North DM added, “There are a total of 372 polling stations and 799 people involved in election work. 17 polling stations will be entirely run by women, 14 polling stations have been considered as standard polling stations and 7 polling stations will be run by divyang persons”.
Apart from that, the administration has decided to control a total of 7 polling stations by youth of the area.
Talking about the security measures, Bardhan said, “The administration has made all necessary arrangements to ensure that the polling process goes smoothly”.
North Tripura District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty urged the common people to extend hands of cooperation and report any sort of distressing incident at the earliest.
