Chandrayaan 3 Mission: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has made preparations for the launch of Chandrayaan-3 mission. The 24-hour launch rehearsal of the process has been completed. The countdown of this mission will start from Thursday. The mission is planned to be launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on Friday (July 14) at 2:35 pm by Launch Vehicle Mark-III (LVM3).

ISRO tweeted on Wednesday (July 12) that a 24-hour ‘launch rehearsal’ has been completed. The Chandrayaan-3 mission is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2, which is expected to demonstrate the full capability of safe landing and orbiting on the lunar surface.

Chandrayaan-3 mission important for the country

During the Chandrayaan-2 mission, there was no success in soft landing of the lander. In this context, the Chandrayaan-3 mission is considered very important for India. If this mission of ISRO to make a soft landing of the vehicle on the moon is successful, then India will be included in the list of selected countries, which have been able to do so.

Missed the soft landing last time

Soft landing on the lunar surface is scheduled for the end of August. In 2019, Chandrayaan-2 failed to land safely on the lunar surface. Due to this ISRO as well as the whole country was disappointed.

‘Fat Boy’ will carry Chandrayaan-3

The country’s ambitious lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 will be carried by ‘Fat Boy’ LVM-M4 rocket. The longest and heaviest LVM3 rocket (formerly known as GSLV MkIII) due to its heavy payload capacity ISRO scientists also affectionately call him Fat Boy. This Fat Boy has completed six successful missions in a row. Scientists have left no stone unturned to successfully land the lander this time.
