Irregularities in GB blood bank lands patient party in trouble – aabtak24

Agartala, July 06: Irregularities by the authority of the blood bank of Agartala GB Hospital landed a patient party in trouble on Thursday after the patient party was provided with a blood transfusion bag of another patient.

The patient party complained that soon after she went to the blood bank with the doctor’s prescription for 100 ml blood of B+ as required for her child – Mohan Pal, the concerned authority of the blood bank had handed her with a B+ blood transfusion bag of 350 ml, which is of another patient party identified as Koruna Pal.

She said that after she went into the hospital with the blood transfusion bag provided to her, the concerned doctor refused to transmit it to her child as the required blood is more than the doctor prescribed.

Following this, the admitted child’s mother rushed to the blood bank again to exchange the blood transfusion bag. Later she was provided with the 100 ml blood transfusion bag as was required for her child, admitted in the hospital for Thalassemia disease.
