Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion Update: The cabinet has been expanded on Friday (July 14) amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar, who became the Deputy Chief Minister in the Maharashtra government, has got the responsibility of the Finance Ministry. Pawar got three ministries from the Eknath Shinde group and 6 from the BJP group.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the allocation of portfolios of the newly appointed ministers in the state cabinet after making some changes in the portfolios of the existing ministers. This allocation has been announced after the approval of Governor Ramesh Bais. The BJP has given the rebel leaders of NCP a place in the cabinet after losing most of the portfolios.

Eknath Shinde Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, Relief and Rehabilitation have gone to Ajit Pawar’s account. At the same time, BJP had to lose 6 ministries of Finance, Cooperation, Medical Education, Food Civil Supplies, Sports and Women and Child Welfare.

Anil Patil- Help Rehabilitation, Disaster Management
Dhananjay Munde- Agriculture Minister

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will handle general administration, urban development, information and technology, information and public relations, transport, social justice, environment and climate change, mining and any other allocated portfolio not assigned to any minister.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will handle Home, Law and Justice, Water Resources and Profit Sector Development, Energy, Royal Courtesy Department. Whereas, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will handle finance and planning.
