Himanta Biswa Sarma Meets Manipur CM: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Manipur CM N Biren Singh on Saturday (June 10). After this meeting, Sarma said that he will inform Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the current situation in the state. Sarma left Guwahati in the morning to discuss the situation in Manipur.
What did the CM of Assam say?
Amit Shah visited Manipur from May 29 to June 1 to take stock of the situation. A Bharatiya Janata Party leader present in the meeting said that we mentioned the issues related to violence. Himanta Biswa Sarma assured us that he would try his level best to restore peace in Manipur. The BJP leader, who requested not to be identified, said that Sarma said that the Manipur unit of the BJP should not hesitate to tell what is needed and he will ensure that those needs are met.

Committee constituted for talks
Representatives of civil organization Kokomi were also present in this meeting. Kokomi’s media coordinator Khuraijam Athauba said the Assam chief minister expressed his condolences for those killed in the violence and said he would do whatever is necessary to restore peace. Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry said on Saturday that the Center has constituted a committee in Manipur under the chairmanship of the governor to facilitate the peace process among various ethnic groups and initiate dialogue between the conflicting parties. p>
