Shahshi Tharoor On 2024 Election: The resounding victory in the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 has filled the Congress with enthusiasm. Congress leaders are up in spirits after the BJP brought down the southern fort and have started claiming a similar defeat for the saffron party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor has advised his own party leaders not to be too happy.
Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor said on Saturday (June 17), that the Congress party should not be complacent ahead of the Lok Sabha elections after defeating the BJP in Karnataka as there is a difference between state and national elections and voter mood can change. Citing the dismal performance of the Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he said that a few months before this the Congress had won big in the assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Karnataka Assembly elections were declared on 13 May. In the 224-member assembly in the state, the Congress won an absolute majority by winning 135 seats. In Karnataka, Tharoor said, strong and effective leadership at the local level and emphasis on local issues helped the Congress win.
