Delhi court summons Brij Bhushan Singh in harassment case against women wrestlers -aabtak24

Wrestlers Protest: Delhi court has summoned former chairman of Wrestling Federation and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar in the case of harassment of women wrestlers. 

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court took this decision after taking cognizance of the charge sheet filed against Brij Bhushan on behalf of 6 adult women wrestlers in the sexual harassment case. 

The court issued summons to Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Friday (July 7). Accused Brij Bhushan and Vinod Tomar have been ordered to appear in court on July 18. 

Allegations have been leveled in these sections 

In the charge sheet, the police have charged Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh under sections 354, 354-A and 354 D of IPC related to sexual assault and against co-accused Vinod Tomar under sections 109, 354, 354 (A), 506 of IPC.  

Articles against Brij Bhushan

Section 354 of IPC has a provision of maximum punishment of 5 years and it is a non-bailable section. There is a provision of maximum punishment of one year under 354A and it is a bailable section. On the other hand, Section 354D of IPC has a provision of maximum punishment of 5 years whereas this section is a bailable section.
