Next Opposition Parties Meeting: Lok Sabha elections, the upcoming meeting of major opposition parties will be held in Bengaluru on 17 and 18 July. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal gave this information on Monday (July 3).
Opposition meeting was held in Patna
It is notable that more than 15 opposition parties, including the Congress, held a meeting in Bihar’s Patna on June 23, in which they unitedly fought against the BJP. And expressed commitment to move forward. The meeting was hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.
In addition to RJD Chief Lalu Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, many strong leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Hemant Soren, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Uddhav Thackeray attended the meeting.
Two splits in NCP before the meeting
The next meeting of the opposition parties is going to be held at a time when the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra has split. Nine party MLAs, including NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s nephew Ajit Pawar, on Sunday (July 2) Eknath Shinde took oath as a minister in the government. In which Ajit Pawar became the Deputy Chief Minister in the Government of Maharashtra and joined the NDA along with his supporters. At the same time, Praful Patel and Dilip Patil, considered close to NCP chief Sharad Pawar, are also present with the rebel group.
