Prime Ministers Museum And Library Society: The Government of India has changed the name of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society (NMML) located in the Teen Murti Bhawan complex of the capital Delhi to ‘Prime Minister’s Museum and Library Society’. A political battle has started on this step of the government. While the Congress has strongly criticized the move, the BJP has retaliated.
Teen Murti Bhawan was the official residence of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The Ministry of Culture said on Friday (June 16) that it was decided to change its name in a special meeting of NMML. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, vice president of the society, presided over the meeting.

The Congress President further wrote in the tweet, “The dwarf thinking of the Modi government cannot reduce the immense contribution of ‘Jawahar of Hind’ towards India!”

BJP’s national president JP Nadda hit back at Congress’s statement. Nadda took a dig, sharing Congress President JP Nadda’s tweet, “Classic example of political indigestion is the inability to accept the simple fact that there are leaders beyond one dynasty who have served and built our nation.” JP Nadda further wrote, “The Prime Minister’s Museum is an effort beyond politics and the Congress lacks the vision to realize it.”

BJP leader JP Nadda further wrote in the tweet thread, ”Every PM has received respect in the Prime Minister’s Museum. The section related to Pandit Nehru has not been changed. On the contrary, its reputation has been enhanced. For a party that ruled India for more than 50 years, their plight is really sad. That’s why people are rejecting him.”

What did Defense Minister Rajnath Singh say?
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the museum in its new format reflects the contribution of all the Prime Ministers from Pandit Nehru to PM Modi and their responses during the various challenges faced by them. All former prime ministers have been respected and the museum’s content is democratic, the statement said.
