Cabinet approves Centre’s ordinance in Delhi, to be tabled in Parliament soon -aabtak24

Parliament Monsoon Session: The bill related to the central government’s ordinance related to the transfer posting of Delhi officials got the approval of the Modi cabinet on Tuesday (July 25). The government can now introduce this bill in the monsoon session of Parliament. The central government issued this ordinance (Delhi Ordinance 2023) on May 19.

In the ordinance issued by the Center, there is a provision to set up National Capital Civil Services Authority for disciplinary action and transfers against Group-A officers of Danix cadre. An ordinance is brought by the government when the parliament is not in session, but it must be passed by the parliament within six weeks. 

Aam Aadmi Party is opposing the ordinance

This ordinance has been strongly opposed by the Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi. You have termed this ordinance as unconstitutional. The matter has been referred by the Supreme Court to a Constitution Bench of 5 judges. AAP national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has met several opposition leaders to garner support against the ordinance. 

Opposition parties will support you

Arvind Kejriwal had recently met several leaders including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, DMK Chief MK Stalin on this issue. Arvind Kejriwal has sought support from several opposition parties to oppose this bill in Rajya Sabha.

Many parties including Congress, TMC, DMK have spoken of their support. At present, the monsoon session of the Parliament is going on. The government can present this bill any day during this period. Before the commencement of the session, a bill was also listed for the introduction of this ordinance.
