Congress party general secretary Jairam Ramesh said on the Maharashtra incident, "It is clear that BJP’s washing machine has resumed its work. Today, many of the leaders who joined the BJP-led coalition in Maharashtra were facing serious allegations of corruption. ED, CBI and Income Tax officials were after them. Now all of them have got clean chit." He said that Congress will intensify its efforts to free Maharashtra from the clutches of BJP.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said that the political developments that have taken place in Maharashtra are less to be condemned.
