Odisha Rail Accident: In the Balasore train accident in Odisha, the CBI had arrested three railway employees for dereliction of duty. Now the Railways has suspended a total of seven people including these three employees.
Last month on June 2, 293 people were killed and more than 1200 people were injured in a train accident near Bahanga Bazar railway station in Balasore district. In response to a question asked on this matter, Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager of South Eastern Railway told reporters that If these officials were alert, the accident could have been avoided.
What did the responsible officer say?
Anil Kumar Mishra told the press after visiting the accident site that the Railways has so far suspended a total of seven employees, including three of them. Who were arrested by CBI. As per rules, the arrested employee is suspended for 24 hours.
CBI had arrested Senior Section Engineer (Signal) Arun Kumar Mahant, Section Engineer Mohammad Amir Khan and Technician Pappu Kumar. He has been taken into custody by the CBI for four more days from Wednesday. The three employees were produced before the CBI court here on Tuesday after completing their five-day custody.
Earlier, an inquiry by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), South Eastern Circle, revealed that the accident occurred due to tampering with the signaling circuit at the northern signal tower of the railway station.
When the Coromandel Express collided with a goods train
