Coromandel Train Accident: Continuous repair work is going on after the gruesome train accident in Balasore, Odisha on Friday (June 2) evening. Work is still going on at the spot and efforts are being made to restore traffic soon. The debris and damaged coaches of the trains are being removed from the track. So far 288 people have died in this accident, while hundreds of people have been injured. The death toll is likely to rise further.

Help of crane and bulldozer is being taken to remove the damaged coaches from the track. Due to the horrific train accident, the coaches of the train have sunk into the ground. Along with this, debris is also being removed from the track so that this railway line can be made smooth again. At present, the routes of many trains have been changed and many trains have been canceled after the accident.
PM Modi visits the victims in the hospital
This horrific accident took place at around 7 pm on Friday evening near Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district, about 250 km south of Kolkata. This is the fourth worst accident in the history of Indian Railways so far. In this accident, the Coromandel Express collided with a goods train after derailing. After this, several coaches of this train also collided with the Bengaluru-Howrah Express. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reached the hospital in Balasore on Saturday to meet the victims. Along with this, he also took stock of the spot.
