Raigarh Landslide: A painful accident occurred due to a landslide in a village in Raigarh district in Maharashtra, in which five people died. So far more than 70 people have been saved in this accident. As soon as the incident was reported, CM Eknath Shinde himself reached the spot and took stock of the relief work. Apart from this, Home Minister Amit Shah also talked to the CM of Maharashtra regarding this incident. Amit Shah also tweeted about the incident and told that NDRF teams have started the rescue operation.

After receiving information about the landslide incident in Raigad, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also reached Raigad, where he took stock of the spot and supervised the relief work. CM Shinde also gave instructions on the spot to provide immediate treatment and facilities to the people rescued from here. Apart from this, he also consoled the families by visiting the homes of the victims. 

Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis informed about Eknath Shinde’s visit on social media, although he himself could not reach the spot. Apart from this, the second Deputy CM Ajit Pawar also did not reach the spot, both of them expressed grief over the incident on social media. At the same time, CM Eknath Shinde has shared many of his pictures on social media, in which he is seen on the spot. During this, people are also seen giving him information about the incident. 

Officials gave this information
Regarding this matter, the officials said that there are about 50 houses in Irshalwadi village, out of which 17 houses have been buried due to landslides after the rains. NDRF personnel recovered one body from the landslide site, while rescue teams had already recovered four bodies. This village is six kilometers away from Morbe Dam. This dam supplies water to Navi Mumbai. Another official said that an official of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s fire department died of a heart attack when he was on his way to join the rescue operation at the landslide site. 

During this reached the spot Eknath Shinde said, ‘‘This village was not in the list of landslide prone villages. Now our priority is to rescue the people trapped under the debris.’’ The official said that the landslide occurred in Irshalwadi village of Khalapur tehsil at around 11 pm on Wednesday. The village is situated near the Irshalgarh fort situated between Matheran and Panvel.
