The Chief Minister of Manipur further said, "The matter is currently under investigation and we will ensure that strict action is taken against all the culprits, including the possibility of death penalty. There is absolutely no place for such heinous acts in our society."
Supreme Court has taken cognizance
The Supreme Court has automatically taken cognizance of this incident in Manipur. Expressing displeasure, the Supreme Court directed strictest action against the accused. During this, CJI Chandrachud said that women are being used as equals in violence affected areas. We should be told what action has been taken against those responsible for this?
