Chandrayaan 3 Launch: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Friday (July 14) successfully launched its third lunar mission Chandrayaan 3 using LVM3-M4 rocket from Sriharikota.

On the launch of Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO Chairman S. Somnath said that if all goes well, its soft landing will happen on August 23 at 5.47 pm. At the same time, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who was present during the launch, said that this entire mission is indigenous. On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed happiness over this. Big things-

1. ISRO chief S. Somnath said in a press conference, “Chandrayaan 3 has started its journey. It has been installed in the LVM3-M4 rocket precise orbit. We have a plan to place it in the Moon’s orbit on August 1. ”””’ He said that in the first year we saw what mistake was made earlier and then what should be improved in the second year so that it is better. Then we saw what else was wrong because some problems are hidden which we found out by review and testing. In the third year we did all the testing and in the last year we did the final assembly and preparation. I congratulate the entire team for this.

2. During the Chandrayaan-2 mission, in the last moments, the lander Vikram was not successful in soft landing due to path deviation. If Chandrayaan-3’s soft landing attempt on the lunar surface is successful, India will join the club of countries like the US, former Soviet Union and China which have achieved such a feat.

3. ‘Chandra mission’ 2019’s ‘Chandrayaan-2’ has a follow-up mission. In this third lunar mission of India also, the aim of the space scientists is soft landing of the lander on the surface of the moon. ‘Soft Landing’ This will be the most challenging part of the campaign.

4. News agency PTI quoted ISRO officials as saying that the propulsion module successfully separated from the rocket about 16 minutes after take-off. Moving towards the lunar orbit, it will revolve around the earth about five-six times in an elliptical circle at 170 km nearest and 36,500 km farthest point from the earth. The propulsion module, along with the lander, after gaining momentum will proceed on a more than a month-long journey to reach the lunar orbit until it reaches 100 km above the lunar surface. According to news agency PTI, ISRO scientists said that after reaching the altitude, the lander module will start descending for a soft landing on the south pole region of the Moon.

5. Like last time in Chandrayaan-3, this time also the south pole region of the moon has been selected for research because the south pole of the moon is much bigger than the north pole. There may be a possibility of the presence of water in permanently shadowed areas around it.

6. During the press conference  Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh said that it is living up to the mantra of self-reliant India. He  said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said that there is no limit to success and I think Chandrayaan has crossed the sky’s limit to explore the unknown horizons of the universe. Singh praised the late Vikram Sarabhai, the founder of ISRO and called the father of India’s space programme, and said that this day is a sign of the dream that Vikram Sarabhai saw six decades ago. He may have lacked resources, but he never lacked confidence.

7. Union Minister Jitendra Singh told that the cost of Chandrayaan-3 project is around Rs 600 crore. He further thanked PM Modi and said that he has made it possible by enabling India’s space sector by opening the gates of Sriharikota.

8. Talking to news agency ANI, former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan congratulated the ISRO team on Chandrayaan-3 mission. He said that we hope that we will have a very successful mission. I thank everyone for their support.  And  Former chairman of ISRO G. Talking to PTI, Madhavan Nair said that I am sure the first part of the journey has started very well. We are making steady progress. Many complex processes have to be finalised, including waste management, provision of food and even the safety of the astronauts in case of any untoward incident. However, we are making progress in this.

9. PM Modi said that Chandrayaan-3 has written a new chapter in India’s space journey. It soars high lifting the dreams and ambitions of every Indian. This significant achievement is a testimony to the tireless dedication of our scientists. I salute their spirit and ingenuity! He had earlier said that July 14, 2023 will always be marked in golden letters and will carry forward the hopes and dreams of the nation.

10. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge tweeted, “Thanks to the tremendous talent, dedication, skill and hard work of the scientists, engineers and everyone involved in the successful launch of Chandrayaan mission. We are proud of you. On behalf of the Congress party, we express our gratitude to the ISRO team.”
