Delhi School Closed: A meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) was held on Thursday (July 13) to deal with the floods in the national capital Delhi. In this meeting, it has been decided to close all the schools and colleges of Delhi till Sunday. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also attended the meeting chaired by the Lieutenant Governor.

Entry of heavy vehicles also banned

Meanwhile, the entry of heavy vehicles coming from outside in Delhi has been banned. Entry of heavy goods vehicles has been banned from Singhu border, Badarpur border, Loni border and Chilla border as a precautionary measure in view of rising water level of Yamuna river.

Buses will not ply at Kashmere Gate ISBT

Interstate buses coming from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand will stop at Singhu border instead of going to ISBT Kashmiri Gate. However, there is no restriction on vehicles carrying essential services such as food items and petroleum products.

Due to heavy rains, the Yamuna’s spate has left Delhi in disarray. Yamuna broke the 45-year-old record on Wednesday and the water in the river continues to rise continuously. With the increase of water in Yamuna, all the measures in Delhi seem insufficient. The water of the river has started entering inside the city, due to which the situation of boat movement has come on the roads. People are leaving their homes on the banks of the Yamuna.
