According to news agency PTI, Tamil Nadu’s local court has approved the bail of suspended ADGP Rajesh Das, convicted in the 2021 sexual harassment case. At the same time, 30 days have been given to file the petition.

In 2021, the woman officer made the allegation

According to the report of NDTV, the woman IPS officer had lodged a complaint against her senior officer in February 2021. In which it was alleged that the then Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy was on patrol duty for his safety, at the same time he had sex. The same The Print report mentions that according to the complainant, Das first begged, then threatened and also misused government machinery to stop her from reporting the matter.

After this, the AIADMK (AIADMK) government suspended Rajesh Das and formed a 6-member committee to investigate. A member of the prosecution team said, “The prosecution had recorded statements of 68 people including police personnel. The officers can appeal and seek bail immediately.”

After this, Rajesh Das also got bail from the local court. After the matter came to light in the year 2021, it became an election issue and MK Stalin (the current Chief Minister), who was the leader of the opposition at that time, assured due legal process after coming to power.
