Agartala, Jun 07: A total of about twenty nine women from four hundred fifty families have been received training on tailoring at Kalajhari under Amarpur R.D Block. Those women who are actually from Bru refugee families actually received land allotment from the government in accordance with government commitment.
The training program on Women’s Tailoring has been conducted by Punjab National Bank (PNB) through Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Udaipur at West Kalajharia of Bru Re- Settlement Campus.
Avijit Chakraborty, Director PNB-RSETI at Udaipur informed that total 33 candidates enrolled for the training, out of that about 29 candidates learnt well and passed the assessment conducted by NAR Bangalore. The interested candidates may allow availing for loan to start the startup their own venture. There will be practical training of soft toys making in the future.
The maximum Bru refugees are getting the facility of government allowances but they don’t have their own land for doing agricultural activities with proper instructions under different Tribal Development Fund related projects.
Sudip Majumder, MD of Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL), Sanjib Deb, BoD of BAPCL and Dr. Farukul Islam, Scientist of Agricultural Science have been visited this Kalajhari village last few days with Avijit Chakraborty in order to do the developmental project under the central sponsored schemes.
A tribal woman trainee has expressed her view that the government might help to get financial support from banks through Joint Liability Group. As there are the issues of documents in order to get benefits from the government, the financial support in accordance with requirements can be done with the help of JLGs. The company BAPCL has been experienced in the matter of JLGs formation and the successful implementation of JLGs in Tripura under NABARD sponsored project.
