Agartala, Jun 22: West District and Sessions Court sentenced Bandhan Jharra, a worker at Joy Bricks factory in Jirania to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for killing a colleague.
Justice Subhashish Sharma Roy of the court found Bandhan Jharra guilty under Section 304 Part-II of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in connection with the murder incident, held on November 14, 2021.
The investigating officer of the case sub-inspector Raju Baidya filed a charge sheet in the court after completing the investigation of the murder case. Public Prosecutor Biswajit Deb ran the case on behalf of the government.
The judge sentenced the convict to 10 years rigorous imprisonment. Additionally, a fine of Rs 5 thousand was imposed and in default of payment, the convict will face an additional two months of rigorous imprisonment.
