Dharmanagar Jun 28: Acting on a tip-off police of Damcherra Police Station detained one along with brown sugar.
According to details, police had information from its secret sources that a brand new Max Pick-up truck was going to enter Tripura from Assam.
Based on the information, Damcherra police personnel sat alert at Bansul area when at around 3.30 pm police detained the vehicle.
After a rigorous search of the vehicle, police nabbed the vehicle driver Basudeb Sinha, resident of Narendra Nagar area in Damcherra along with 5gm narcotic heroin and Rs 9,380 in cash.
Police also seized mobile phone from the detained.
Police officials said, “A case has been registered against him under NDPS section at Damcherra police station and investigation has been started”.
